It has almost been year since Tim or I have last posted something on our blog. We are not very good at this! So, for now, I guess I will just do a year in review to catch up. Here it goes...
October 2008- My sisters, Mom, and I started the tradition of having a girl’s weekend since we have so many girls in our family. In October we went to Midway on a Friday night. It was so much fun. We did facials, pedicures, manicures, made Oreo truffles, went out to dinner and watched chick-flicks. Then on Saturday all the men and boys came up to hang out and some of us stayed Saturday night as well. This year we are going down to St. George for the weekend and I can't wait!
Bronson was a lion for Halloween. He looked so cute and even growled for people. We didn't really go trick-or-treating, but earlier in the afternoon we went and visited his Grandparents and their work. He got quite a bit of candy from my Mom's work.
November 2008- For Thanksgiving we decided to go to Bear Lake instead of staying home. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I think that Thanksgiving has probably turned out to be one of my favorites! We had a lot of fun getting away. Before dinner on Thanksgiving Day we had a family football game. I didn't get any pictures of it because I was playing. But during the game my sister, Andrea, hurt her ankle pretty bad. So we decided to stop that game.
The guys didn't get enough football so they got a game going with some other boys that were outside. It was pretty funny to watch.
A few days after Thanksgiving we were able to pick out our Christmas tree and put it up. (This is a picture of Bronson putting on the star.)
December 2008- December, for us is always about being with family, listening to Christmas music, and watching a lot of Christmas movies. From October to January is my favorite time of the year. I love the smells, tastes, and family time we spend together. It is always very exciting. This year on Christmas Eve we played Christmas themed Pictionary. I must say it was pretty entertaining.
January 2009- Tim’s birthday is on January 5th. I am always more excited about his birthday than he is. So I always insist on doing something for his birthday to make it special.
February 2009- Bronson got a snow suit and coat for Christmas and in February we had a pretty good snow storm, so he was able to go and play in the snow. He wasn’t too sure about the snow at first, but by the end of winter he really started to like it.
March 2009- A friend of my sister’s works and Kiddie Kandids and offered us a free 8x12. So of course I took her up on the offer and this is the photo we ended up with.
April 2009- At the very last minute, Tim and I, decided to join my sister Kelli, her husband, my little sister Tara, and my parents on a trip to Yellowstone. This was probably one of my favorite trips to Yellowstone, and my family has taken quite a few over the years. Most of the boardwalks and trails surrounding the hot pots were covered in snow and that made for quite an adventure. We were able to see lots of buffalo (Bronson called them Tatonka), elk, a fox, a bear, a coyote, and a moose (which we saw just outside of Rexburg). Even though Bronson came away with a few scrapes and bruises it was a great trip.
May 2009- My parents have a trampoline that Bronson loves to jump on. It finally started to warm up enough to the point that he could have the hose on the trampoline. It made him so happy! Now it is one of his favorite things to do.
June 2009- My sister and her husband (Kelli and Nate) took us out on their boat in June. Bronson was a little nervous to get on at first. Once he got on and we started to move and go fast he realized it was a lot of fun. Now all he talks about is going on their “bumpy boat”. Nate even let him drive the boat and now that is all he wants to do when we go boating.
The Summer Fest was also in June. This year it down poured on us when we were headed to the carnival. Luckily we were in Nate and Kelli’s truck so we waited it out in their truck for a little while. When it calmed down we walked over and a lot of people had left so that is when we went on all the rides. Bronson went on a ride that spins you in circles and got a kick out of it. He even went a second time.
July 2009- We decided to fly out to Washington to surprise Tim’s dad for his birthday. The only person who knew we were coming was his mom. It was so much fun to surprise everyone! We had such a great time while we were there, like always. We got to swim in the pool, ride scooters, go boating, and Bronson got to stick his feet in the pond and throw rocks (that was his favorite thing). We always love visiting Vancouver, and that makes it so hard to leave and come back home.
August 2009- Kelli and Nate went on a trip and asked if we would feed their dogs. I of course said yes, knowing very well that Bronson would be happy to go and see them every day. The second day we were there I realized they had a river extremely close to their house so after feeding the dogs we headed over to explore. We loved it so much that we went back every day for about two weeks. We even brought Kelli with us a few times and that made it even more fun.
One thing I have to do every summer is go camping. It doesn’t feel like summer to me unless I have gone to lagoon and gone camping. We went to Lagoon in July and summer has been fading fast so my entire family decided to go camping up Provo Canyon for a night. We told Bronson that he was going to get to spend the night in the mountains (he calls them the “ogah” no clue where he got that). He was very excited ever time we told him. But when it came time for bed while we were camping he wasn’t too sure about it and told me he wanted to go home. Camping was a blast I just wish it would have been a longer.
That has been our year thus far… Bronson’s birthday is coming up so that is something we are looking forward to and will definitely post about. I hope you have enjoyed my year in review. I am going to try to not have to do it again. I am starting to think we can update at least once a month (haha we will see).
