Here's Cooper! He was born April 19th at 5:24 p.m. He was 8lbs 9oz and 21 in long. I was induced around ten in the morning. Labor went well it wasn't too long or too painful. The deliver was a little bit scary because the cord was wrapped around Cooper's neck and they had to cut it before he was all the way out. Once he came out he wasn't breathing and so they rushed him over to the bed to try and get him to breathe. They had to call some people down from ICU to come and help out. I am not quite sure how long it was before he started breathing, I think it was about a minute, but it felt like more. Anyway I was able to hold him for a little bit before they took him upstairs to the ICU. He was there for about an hour and a half and then was able to come down stairs at the same time I went downstairs.
On Tuesday my doctor told me that she wanted me to stay until Wednesday morning to make sure everything was going okay with the baby. On Wednesday morning my doctor came into my room and told me that she just got done listening to Coopers heart and that she heard a slight murmur. She said that had it been any other baby she would have sent them home but because of Bronson's heart problem she wanted to have a doctor do an echo cardiogram on his heart. So we had to sit and wait for that to get done. Finally the doctor was able to take a look and he said that there was nothing to be concerned about, the murmur was caused because the hole in between the two chambers of the heart wasn't completely closed off yet. After a very long stay at the hospital we were finally able to take Cooper home on Wednesday night. He is doing great! Bronson loves being a big brother, he really enjoys giving Cooper kisses and helping burp him. He keeps telling me that he "loves Baby Tooper." He is going to be a great big brother. We are enjoying having a new baby to snuggle in our house and trying to remember how to take care of a little one again. My sister Andrea has been a lifesaver in the morning helping out with Bronson while we catch up on sleep. We are so grateful and blessed to have so much help around us.
